Do I need a consultation before my first IV infusion?

Yes, Your safety and suitability are always assessed before treatment.

If you are new to IV therapy, you will undergo a complimentary onboarding consultation with one of our experienced registered nurses. This includes comprehensive health screening, consent process, and clinical assessment to ensure IV therapy is appropriate for you.

A prescribing doctor will conduct a further medical review to ensure your infusion is precisely aligned with your health profile.

What happens during a new patient onboarding appointment?

Your onboarding appointment is designed to understand your physiology, goals, and suitability for IV therapy.

During this session, your nurse will:

  • Review your medical history and current health status
  • Discuss your goals, symptoms, and treatment objectives
  • Assess medications, lifestyle factors, and relevant health considerations
  • Recommend the most appropriate infusion based on clinical suitability

What should I expect during my IV therapy session?

Your infusion will take place in a private clinical setting designed for comfort and relaxation. A registered nurse will insert a small IV line into your vein and administer the infusion while you remain seated or reclined.

Most infusions take approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the formulation. You may feel a brief pinch during insertion, after which the process is generally comfortable and well tolerated. Many patients use this time to relax, read, or simply disconnect.

How often should I receive IV therapy?

Frequency depends entirely on your individual physiology, health status, and goals.

Some individuals benefit from an initial series to restore nutrient levels, followed by maintenance infusions at longer intervals. Others may receive infusions periodically during times of stress, fatigue, or increased demand.

Is IV therapy safe?

Yes, All IV infusions are prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner and administered by AHPRA registered nurse in a clinical setting.
