Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

At Éthos, every hairline is carefully designed to look natural, balanced, and true to the way real hair grows. Our nurse is respected for her attention to detail in producing a natural looking frontal hairline. The goal is subtle, realistic results that blend seamlessly with your existing hair.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that replicates the appearance of natural hair follicles using advanced micro-implantation of specialized pigment into the scalp. By layering thousands of precise impressions, SMP creates the illusion of increased density, sharper hairlines, and fuller coverage in areas affected by thinning, recession, pattern baldness, or scarring. Each treatment is customized to your existing hair colour, skin tone, scalp undertone, and natural follicle pattern to ensure results that are subtle and seamless.

How does SMP work?

Using a specialized device and pigment formulated for scalp use, micro-dots are implanted at a controlled depth within the upper layers of the scalp. These impressions are placed in multiple layers to mimic the randomness, size, and spacing of natural hair follicles.

How many sessions are required?

SMP usually requires three sessions, allowing the pigment to be layered gradually for optimal colour stability and natural blending. The exact number depends on the area treated, degree of coverage required, and individual skin response.

When can results be expected?

Immediately after each session, visual improvement is noticeable.

Are the results permanent?

SMP is considered long-lasting but not permanent. Gradual softening can occur over time, and maintenance sessions may be recommended to preserve optimal appearance.

Are there any contraindications?

SMP may not be suitable for individuals with active scalp infections, certain inflammatory skin conditions, uncontrolled autoimmune disorders, or those prone to keloid scarring. Suitability is assessed during consultation.
